He brings with him his expertise in creating and fostering relationships through community based projects.
Frank Strona – Co-Chair is long-time a Bay Area resident, a nationally known writer, educator, health advocate and prevention specialist along with being a technology and digital/social media groud-breaker. He has been active in the pursuit to improve, educate and promote opportunities that support the engaged learner while also preparing the workforce with the tools and skills necessary to stay competitive in a rapidly expanding technology based world. He holds a strong conviction that diversity and inclusion is integral to any success in the workplace, which prompted my own return to the classroom for a master’s degree in public health in 2007 from San Jose State University. He then moved on to complete his doctoral coursework at the California Institute for Integral Studies in Transformational Studies and Leadership, where he am currently writing his data up towards a dissertation defense this spring. In addition to his work in Public Health for the Centers for Disease Control, Bay Area Health Departments and private consulting as a personal strategist, trainer and advocate (www.MentorSF.com), he also holds adjunct roles with National University Allied Health Services Program and San Jose State’s Department of Health Science and Recreation.

His portfolio as writer, director and designer includes frequent collaborations with other artists, most recently writing a curated stage show for the organization Veteran Artists at the deYoung Museum. His most recent original production, Swan Queen, premiered in September 2014 and earned an extended run at Supperclub San Francisco. His next project is officially in production and is anticipated to premiere by summer 2015.
Susanne Labarge, is currently serving in a dual role with the board, she brings with her a well established background as a practitioner of TCM and a historical perspective of IEP as having been a past practitioner with us. She returned to the Clinic in 2015 as a practitioner and sees patients on Tuesdays, as well as serving on the Board. Susanne has been practicing Chinese Medicine for nearly 30 years. Her inspiration was furthered when, at the age of five, she hungrily read an article about the life and works of Dr. Albert Schwietzer. From then on, she knew she would be a doctor.By the time she was eighteen, she was prescribing herbs and giving dietary recommendations to friends and family. She then was even more inspired, as her recommendations proved to work so well and helped so much! When the time came to attend western medical school, she had major second thoughts...after 15+ years of university studies, she would really only be equipped to offer her patients drugs or surgery for their health issues! That felt way too limiting, so she moved on to a broader prospective. The all encompassing nature of Chinese Medicine drew her in. She became licensed as a practitioner of Chinese Medicine/Acupuncturist/herbalist.
